Sony have launched new gaming headsets this week. The gaming headsets have been created around extensive user research. Playstation 3 users was giving a questionnaire to fill out about what features they would like on the "Ideal Playstation 3 headset".

This headset supports 7.1 3D surround sound, This will be a excellent feature for First Person Shooters. The headset is called the DR-GA500. Sony released a headset before but it has fewer features it was called DR-GA200.

What I'm curious is about is how it would compare to a $200 sound card + high fidelity headphones. It's price around that price so I would hope to see the same kind of performance. >.<; It looks awesome but can't justify the purchase if it's simply an overpriced $30 dollar headphones with an average $50 dollar external sound card.
