Switching your paint is easy and requires very little time, so you can do this while modding other things. I will need help compiling a list of paint codes, but for now I have the Golden Chrome! No more paint chips!

First off, when you open the gt-5 file, hit CTRL+G, and type in :

    0000E840

Now you should see something looking like 00 FF FF FF

The selected code in the above image is the paint data. This is the only thing that needs changing in order to repaint your car.

Here are some paint codes :

    

Gold Chrome : 01 11 FF FF 

Reflex Purple : 00 92 1F FF

Got the chrome code after repainting a Veyron. I imported it to a GT-R'07 and a Ford GT-40 '06, both have worked.

Of course, after editing, update and recompile the document, replace the save, load up GT5 and go into GT Auto. If the car has indeed changed color, buy an oil change (burn a mile in a new car online quickly before re painting) then go into your garage, highlight the thumbnail of your car, press Triangle, select "Create a Thumbnail" and either :
- Favorite it, and go into the Favorite menu to see it fixed
- Go into a different menu (Simply switching from Premium/Standard or Standard/Premium) and go back.

You now have a Gold Car! With a fixed thumbnail!

I painted already some cars with that Color Codes..
the last one i discover was the Black (with no name.. only with in the Square).

Im looking for a Yellow Color (with no name.. only with in the Square).
I have tryed the Integra Touring Yellow (02-19...!) but.. not working

If someone can give me a clue i appreciate

Some cars you cannot change the colour of, I edited my subaru Rally car just fine but the gran turismo pace car wouldn't let me change the colour even though it said matte black it was still white red and black :\

Yeah,I know,but it turns out that I was changing in the wrong offset. Now my R8 LMS Race Car is Gold Chrome.

haha oh well then.. well done on figuring it out.. trail and error is always the easiest way to learn in my opinion but it doesn't hurt to ask for a little guidance

If it has 1 decal or 2, then it's worth a try.

If it looks like a billboard, don't bother, you'll waste time, energy and bandwidth. Car that fir "Billboard" description are cars such as :

- 787B
- R8 Le Mans Team Playstation
- GT-40 Race Car

Race cars in general cannot be painted. Exceptions exist, but they are always far less decorated than their cousins. R8 Le Mans, the F2007 (F1 is a type of race car no?) AE Amemiya, and some others sit the drab category.

that is not correct as only numbers, gulf sign and red decal on gt40 are all decals and the blue is paint!!! i see gold chrome gt40 with decals still normal just today! zonda lm can only be painted in the middle, the sides are the decal part and stays black.
