This allowed users to actually mod their game saves to have infinite of items, and money (basically anything in the game... in a way for understanding).

Today, he stated that this will be released first in Asia renamed to PS4 Save Editor, and then for US/EU named PS4 Save Editor. It seems that it has officially released for the Asia Region from his Twitter to actually view the item before purchase!

Precisely why I haven't updated my system. I had a feeling it would block it.

Sounds like Sony might actually ban people this time around for using save editors and things like xploder

Do a barrel roll!
Even if you didn't update, didn't ps4 needed to be connected online to move saves over to USB?

No it doesn't. That's only if your save is on cloud storage. You can transfer from the system memory to a USB to apply the cheats and transfer back without ever going online.

I am really, really intrigued as to how the Cyber Save Editor works (or rather doesn't, with the 4.50 patch). Does anyone know the detail?

Are they brute forcing the decryption on the back end? If so, what sort of kit is required to do that? Are we talking distributed network, teraflops of compute on AWS or similar? Or is it likely something that can translate to a bog standard i5 desktop or a decent GPU?

Or is there a physical PS4 running an exploit somewhere in the loop? If so, how are they orchestrating the server requests and how scalable a solution is that? Would that mean no EU/US version without EU/US PS4 hardware in the mix? If this is the solution, it sounds like a real flaky one - I don't think I'd be investing real world money on something that could be patched at any moment - in fact, it looks like that might be exactly what's happened with 4.50.

Personally, I've been a fan of save editors / trainers since the good old days of ZX Spectrum "pokes" and Amiga trainers. I was a big fan of Revolution and Horizon on the 360 to replay games that I'd finished in "bad ass" mode. I find save editing greatly extends the life of old games and I've never used them to cheat online.

I don't have high hopes for the Xploder, I must admit. This looks like a "simple" save resigner - they certainly don't sell it as an "editor".

Fingers crossed the back end details for the Cyber Save Editor are released to the community so that something really useful can be developed and released for free.

As far as I remember, when the 3ds cyber was released, the mods on project pokemon made a program which interrupted the data transfer between the game and sever allowing their program to edit the saves. Once edited, start the program again and it finishes the encryption
