You need to use save wizard to edit the save files. You know I tried. 
I just bought save wiz and it is the only tool I use to edit.
It works just fine, and I've managed to do everything this guide teaches.
Added effects to my Caryll runes, Made several 5 socket weapons, added gem and caryll runes to Armor,
edit Echos and Insight to 999,999,999. Max stats at level 150,
even made special editions of Beast Claws and Kos Parasyte that when you equip them they already have the corresponing Caryll runes on
them (Beast Embrace and Milkweed) so I can go all tentacle-ie and beast mode.
And made more OP as FUK gems. I have a Holy Moonlight that does over 1m damage.

When I edited mine, I made sure there was only one instance of the effect on the rune. So it wasn't something I had added the rune effect to. (Like a piece of Armor)
93 00 80 C0 is the Rune ID -- DO NOT EDIT -It wont crash your save, but the gem can just disappear-
68 87 01 80 is the Rune's Source - DO NOT EDIT -It wont crash your save, but the gem can just disappear-
The 02 00 00 00 and 01 00 00 00 00 are I believe either A identifier and quantity value or something, I never messed with them. Gem's don't stack, so adding more does nothing from what I understand.
B2 D0 10 00 00 is the Max EYE Caryll Rune, or +100 to Discovery.
NOW
Every FF FF FF FF segment there after, you can add an effect to. Add 9A D4 10 00 and you now have 15% more health.

I was wondering how I could edit my health and items amount I've looked through everything and nothing helps, I might be just dumb but I can't seem to figure this out if anyone could help me that would be amazing, save wizard advanced mode is complicated I've gotten blood gems to work but idk anything else
