(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Some of my friends and I were talking about Death and how we view it.

Some have admitted that they are afraid, others state they don't care and many others like myself have just stated that we accept the inevitable.

What's your take on the matter?

I'm in two minds about the whole death thing. Accept death? I laugh at people who say they accept death in a "what you gonna do" manner. It's the most unfair and cruel thing ever devised, why should we be leveled with all the other scum, we don't get any rewards for being good people we just rot in a hole and pretty soon after that we are forgotten. Sometimes I feel choked by fear when I think about it, the unstoppable power that is our impending death just really makes me feel weak and feeble. I really don't think it's something that anyone can ever accept and just say "shit happens", if you have such a light-hearted approach to death then you haven't thought about it hard enough.

On the other hand death is a gift, imagine the thought of endless time stretching out in front of you, I think it would drive a man insane. After all, we all make mistakes and carry baggage, can you imagine the amount of baggage you would have if you lived for a thousand years? I'm just seventeen and I'm $#@!ing plagued by things everyday, thoughts and regrets that just follow me around.

Lets end this post on a more happy note shall we? Death makes life all the more precious, it makes everyday seem special, to know that you possess something that many people have lost. It motivates me personally, it makes me get up off the laptop and do stupid shit and have fun. It also helps me when I'm stressed out with school work and other things I just think to myself "Hey, this is nothing, you're gonna die someday asshole, so cheer the $#@! up.". You will never really accept how precious life is until you accept how precious death is, and I'm sure you'll be happy when you do.

I'm the same. What I probably will end up doing is if I get into that state, I would setup a suicide drink, mix it up and only drink the drinks right before I go to bed.

Say, setup 100 drinks and 1/100 of those will be the suicide drink. If I survive 99 days and don't die, simply enough I will try again by adding 74 new drinks. Hehe, make it a game.

I understand where you are coming from. Well put :y:

Idea of death huh... it actually depends on my mood. Haha! But yes it is indeed scary because who knows what will really happen when you die? I mean is death just another path or it is the end of everything for you? Well it depends on the person I guess. Hahaha! I sure hope that we'll all be happy afterwards Smile)

It's so scary thinking about it!

Just thinking of the infinite amount of years the Universe lives, and how we live the tiniest fraction of it. The fact that once we die we're going to be dead for trillions and trillions and trillions and trillions and trillions of years, not being able to see, think, hear, smell, etc. I also think it's scary how it's unavoidable and you have no idea how it will happen to you. I'm doubting reincarnation, because scientists say the sun will explode in 5 billion years so we wouldn't be able to reincarnate into another human. One other thing that scares me is that once you're dead you'll never see any of your family or friends again :(

Well guys, think about this for a moment: Where were we before being born? Did we care? Do we remember anything? I for one concentrate on the now. I try to achieve as much as I can so I can live on through the memories of others.

It's always best to, when I get the chance I try to do things with friends and such "Carpe Diem". Even though I do have anxieties I do my best through them knowing that in the end it doesn't matter what I did and what people thought because we will be no different from those who lived 2,000 years before us. No one is really going to know what we thought, how we dressed except what the history books will tell in a paragraph about how we ripped off styles of the years before us.

Honestly you can not judge somebody negatively for the way they deal with death. Everyone has been through it with people they know, and our time will come too. People cope in different ways with the thought of death, because everyone knows it could happen at any given time for any given reason. So to judge someone based on their view of death is not very intellectual because by your "standards" the guy that doesn't fear death is as stupid as the guy who doesn't let people cope the way they feel is comfortable.

My view has always been the same for death. Im not scared of death, im scared of what I leave behind. Im scared of people around me dying but I know when I die I will have nothing to worry about ever again. I do however have hopes for death. Not as in I want to die, but that in theory when I die in the body im in right now, I get to live as a totally different person in my next life. By no means am I religious, fuck religion, but there is hope and what I think and want.

There are two things that are a certainty in life, and thats taxes and death. It is natural to be afraid of death because you never know when it could happen. From my point of view, it isn't something to be scared of, but it is something to prepare for.

Ben Franklin? Nice.

I'm afraid of death, but not the actual dying part, it's the aftermath. Did I make a lasting impression on the people around me? Did I accomplish anything worthwhile? Did I do enough? Those questions are what really gets me. Beside that, death is just a natural part of life.

A lasting impression for the people around you will die off when they die.

Our name is only temporary and for as long as we continue to talk about that name, they survive but as more time passes, the name dies more and more.

Think about Egyptian kings, they thought their names would last forever, so many of them have been lost or forgotten. Some have been destroyed by the king in front of them and forever lost.
