RIP PICHU.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Some of my friends and I were talking about Death and how we view it.

Some have admitted that they are afraid, others state they don't care and many others like myself have just stated that we accept the inevitable.

What's your take on the matter?

I'm in two minds about the whole death thing. Accept death? I laugh at people who say they accept death in a "what you gonna do" manner. It's the most unfair and cruel thing ever devised, why should we be leveled with all the other scum, we don't get any rewards for being good people we just rot in a hole and pretty soon after that we are forgotten. Sometimes I feel choked by fear when I think about it, the unstoppable power that is our impending death just really makes me feel weak and feeble. I really don't think it's something that anyone can ever accept and just say "shit happens", if you have such a light-hearted approach to death then you haven't thought about it hard enough.

On the other hand death is a gift, imagine the thought of endless time stretching out in front of you, I think it would drive a man insane. After all, we all make mistakes and carry baggage, can you imagine the amount of baggage you would have if you lived for a thousand years? I'm just seventeen and I'm $#@!ing plagued by things everyday, thoughts and regrets that just follow me around.

Lets end this post on a more happy note shall we? Death makes life all the more precious, it makes everyday seem special, to know that you possess something that many people have lost. It motivates me personally, it makes me get up off the laptop and do stupid shit and have fun. It also helps me when I'm stressed out with school work and other things I just think to myself "Hey, this is nothing, you're gonna die someday asshole, so cheer the $#@! up.". You will never really accept how precious life is until you accept how precious death is, and I'm sure you'll be happy when you do.

I personally think death is not an end but another beginning. We continue on in the hearts of those we love, and our friends. If we are lucky our enemies will never let our memory die until they have had a chance to destroy it. Smile

Our name is only temporary and for as long as we continue to talk about that name, they survive but as more time passes, the name dies more and more.

Think about Egyptian kings, they thought their names would last forever, so many of them have been lost or forgotten. Some have been destroyed by the king in front of them and forever lost.

That tends to happen in the past, but I'm actually not talking about kings or emperors, but people who actually benefit society and humanity as a whole. If lets just say, you contribute to finding a cure for cancer, then of course you will be remember. The only way that your name will be lost forever is if humanity dies out.

No name lasts forever... Give a name 10,000 years and chances are, it is forgotten.

You're right, probably not forever because of course nothing IS forever, including the universe. But it is still pretty bad ass if someone still remembers your name after 10,000 years. The oldest surviving name right now is around 5,000 years, and that was right about when people are still getting the hang of recording history. So in light of this, don't you think that it would be worth it to try to make a lasting impression?

To be brutally honest, it's not something to be scared of, if you have prepared properly. I mean this in that those who have repented for their sins and been truly forgiven you will be greatly rewarded. Plain and simple.

...or you'll just cease to function, much like a computer. Imagine how much time you have and will continue to waste worshipping a religion and it's deity that are merely bits and pieces of older, equally flawed religions.

And before you bring up the tired old risk versus reward argument, as most do, see: You must login or register to view this content..

Waste? One day a week and not even a long one. That's very little time to give.
