(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well walking a few days ago me and my friend stumbled upon an argument. What would the world be like without religion? He said there would be more crime and etc. Although people don't commit crime because their religion says not to. They do it because of laws. To put it bluntly if you commit a crime you go to jail. I said that there would be less controversy and fighting over which religion is right and blah blah blah, and that we would come together as people and have more technological advances. I look at it like this. No religion=Star Wars on Earth. He looks as it as. No religion=More Crime on Earth.

What do you guys think? Discuss.

Well, religion is necessary, because that man created it. Religions purpose is to control the mass of people. Without religion, people would be out of control. It gives man peace and something to look up to in this life. Especially for the poor and sick. So Man created Religion. It's mind-control slavery.

Some people need religion to stay sane. They follow religion, obeying the rules and morals, which a religion sets out. Drack

Honestly it actually gives morals to people but humans being humans, have to fight over different views of religion. Like America starting war for oil :carling:

Without religion they would have no hope of life and see life as a pointless, waste of time. When people say their religion is wrong, they automatically get defensive about as it's so important to them.

Without religion there would obviously be less religious causing war but there will always be war between humans (humans are greedy, lets face it). War will still be at large on earth.

If this world was free of religion, mankind would be one step further at achieving world peace.

I mean seriously you dont know how dumb some of you sound? If i said i believe in a flying spaghetti monster you would think i am a idiot. You saying you believe in some mysterious man who can create anything ect is dumb. Bet you believe in the Illuminati too.

You are taking the easy way out of this shit, like in ancient Greek times they were too lazy to figure shit out so they just said it was a god who did it, which later prooved to be proven by science that it was not God but something scientific. By just say God did this god did that you are taking the easy way you gullible twats

You're just plain ignorant. You can't prove a deity DOES exist, but you can't prove he can't either. Having faith in "science" you know nothing about yourself is just as objectively illogical believing in a god/gods. I don't don't personally believe an any conventional deity, but I don't ridicule those who do because I know my beliefs are no more founded than their's are.

Grow up.

I think it ultimately comes down to a matter of burden of proof. While atheists may not be able to indisputably disprove the existence of God (or any deity or religion of your choosing), theists cannot indisputably prove the existence of God. I would say that, in this circumstance, the burden of proof would lie with the theists, because they are making unfounded statements and assumptions. I could claim that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is real - it's not the job of atheists to disprove me, but rather my job to prove my own statement. Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate.
