Post: Instant disconnection
05-16-2009, 12:19 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello,

I made my own switch to test a few things with it but it won't work.

I have a pretty long cable (15 or more m)
Cut the orange cable (was on 2nd order)
My modem is my router (fritzbox), so I have router/modem....(s)......PS3
I got DSL (download 10-16000/up about 1000)
I did configurate the settings as posted in one of the pinned topics

And I dunno what else I can do to get it working.

As soon I flip it down it disconnects from the PSN, saying ethernet cable could not be found or sth like that.

Any help would be appreciated

This is the same poblem I had, I had a modem and router in one and I kept on getting disconnected. A lagswitch won't work for you because you have to have a modem and a seperate router. This is so the PS3 doesn't detect a voltage difference.
So, sorry mate, but its not gonna work

you've tried this right: You must login or register to view this content. ?

also, if you can, put a network switch in-between your lag switch and your ps3:

modem/router-----(s)-----network switch-----------ps3

...and don't listen to the post above me because he has no idea what he's talking about. i have a modem/router combo as well, and i get more lag time than 99% of the people here.

my setup is:

modem/router---(~75 ft.)-----(s)---Network Switch----(~10ft)----PS3/360

i can get around 5-7 seconds when i'm not using the network switch, and when i do use it i can get about 20-25.
