Haxor!
had this once on a nand cechc03 and I had to get into fsm and use lv2diag to install firmware to fix it, wouldn't take any firmware update, kept on hanging in the recovery menu and same with rebuild db. if I remember correctly it was on rebug 4.65 and I tried to replace vsh.self due to sony patching psn and it went wrong.

at the end of your post you said "No display can also be a result of GLOD..lets hope not." so if he cant reset the display or go into recovery, then its definitely glod

Happens to me once in a while when I go from HDMI to AV cables. Then I just reset the video setting and something I reset it when I go from AV to HDMI cause it blacks out

If you hold the power button until it beeps 1 time it will have you adjust your video out put settings. That should fix it.

Wiggle or hold the hdmi cable down, or up, or left/right. Your port may be the problem.

Have you tried resetting the audio output by holding down the PS3 button until you hear 1 beep?
